How to: Add a chart to a form.
Solution:
In the Form Design view, select the 'Insert' menu and select 'Chart'. Click on the form and follow the steps in the wizard.
1) If the Database window is not activated, activate the Database window.
2) Click the 'Forms' tab in the Database window.

3) Select the desired form from the list. (The selected form is highlighted.)
4) Click 'Design'. (The selected form appears in Design view, and the floating Toolbox appears.)
5) To add a chart that is bound to data in the database, do the following:
a) Select the 'Insert' menu and select 'Chart'. (The cursor changes to a +.)
b) Position the mouse pointer on the form to select the location for the chart.
c) Click the location for the chart. (The wizard dialog box appears.)
NOTE: The size of the control defaults to a preset size. To create an unbound control of a desired size, click the location for the unbound control, press and hold down the mouse button and drag to the desired size.
d) Select the desired table or query for the bound chart.
e) Click 'Next'. (The next step of the wizard appears.)
f) Select the desired field from the 'Available Fields' list.
g) Click the '>' button to move the selected field(s) to the list box on the right.
h) Repeat steps 5)f) and 5)g) for each additional field.
i) Click 'Next'. (The next step of the wizard appears.)
j) Click the desired chart Type. (A description of each chart type appears to the right when selected.)
k) Click 'Next'. (The next step of the wizard appears.)
l) Drag-and-drop the field buttons from the right side of the screen to the left to customize the sample chart.
m) Click 'Next'. (The next step of the wizard appears.)
n) Select the first form field to link to the chart from the 'Form Fields' drop-down list.
o) Select the corresponding chart field from the 'Chart Field' drop-down list.
NOTE: This process links the data (records) in the database to the chart.
p) Click 'Next'.
q) Type a title for the chart in the 'Title' box.
r) Click 'Finish'. (The chart appears on the form.)
6) To add an unbound chart to a form, do the following:
a) To insert an existing chart, do the following:
1] Click 'Unbound Object Frame' on the Toolbox.
2] Position the mouse pointer on the form to select the location for the chart.
3] Click the location for the chart on the form. (The Insert Object dialog box appears.)
4] Select the 'Create From File' radio button.
5] Type the path and filename in the 'File' box.

NOTE: Click 'Browse...' to search for a file.
6] (Optional) Select the 'Link' check box to insert a link to the file.
NOTE: Any changes made to the object file that was inserted will then be reflected in the database.
7] Clear the 'Link' check box to insert the file contents as an embedded object.
NOTE: Any changes made to the object file that was inserted will then NOT be reflected in the database.
8] Click 'OK'. (The filename appears in the File box.)
9] Click 'OK'. (The chart is inserted on the form.)
b) To create and insert a new object, do the following:
1] Click 'Unbound Object Frame' on the Toolbox.
2] Position the mouse pointer on the form to select the location for the object.
3] Click the location for the object on the form. (The Insert Object dialog box appears.)
4] Select the 'Create New' radio button.
5] Select the desired object type from the 'Object Type' list box.

6] Click 'OK'. (The Object Type software application is activated.)
7] Create the object using the desired application.
8] Select the 'File' menu and select 'Exit & Return to <form name> : Form'
(where <form name> is the name of the current form for inserting the object).
NOTE: Depending on the software application, select the 'File' menu and select 'Exit' may be available.
7) Select the 'File' menu and select 'Save' to save the form.
